Convenience Sites

All Camden County 's Convenience Sites now have Recycling Compactors, so you don't have to do much sorting.

The following items will go directly into the compactors:

• All Plastic Bottles
• Cardboard
• Aluminum Cans
• Steel Cans
• Newspaper
• Magazines & Catalogs
• Mail, Office Paper
• Paperboard (cereal, shoe boxes)
• Paper Bags
• Phone Books

Plastic Tips: Only bottles and jugs with a neck that is smaller than the body is allowed.

The following types of plastic are not recyclable:

• Bags
• Film
• Toy
• Tubs
• Pails
• Plates
• Cups
• Trays
• Styrofoam
• Etc.

Keep glass separate: Please place glass into the Glass Recycling container. No need to separate it by colors. The ECG Company in Elizabeth City makes all of the glass collected into paving products and other items.

Other materials accepted at each site is:

• Yard Waste
• Used Oil Filters
• Household Goods
• Scrap Metals
• Appliances
• Motor oil
• Antifreeze
• Tires

Items NOT accepted are:

• Construction Debris
• Shingles
