Question | Can you share the name/firm of your Construction Manager at Risk? |
Answer | At this time the County has not selected the Construction Manager at Risk. This will be done at a later date. The County has used this before and is comfortable with the process. |
Question | Is Solex Architecture prohibited from further participation in the project? |
Answer | No. Solex Architecture is also welcome to submit a proposal. Their services were used to design and produce the conceptual drawings and renderings for the leadership. |
Question | What is the budget that has been established for the project? |
Answer | Approximately $10,000,000 (Ten Million Dollars) |
Question | Do the conceptual renderings adequately represent your goals for the project? |
Answer | After much discussion and recommended changes the leadership is comfortable with the concept, however, they are open to any ideas that would work to make it more efficient, user friendly, and reduce the overall cost. |
Question | Is there a LEED Certification goal for the project? |
Answer | We would like to see as many energy efficient designs implemented as possible. Please keep in mind that overall cost is a significant factor in moving this project forward. |

Question | Some visions for the CM at Risk delivery method have the CM involved in the designer and/or GC and possibly subcontractor selection process. What is Camden County’s vision of the role of the CM? |
Answer | At this time the plan is to identify and select the CM after the architect is selected but before the bidding goes out for construction. |
Question | The RFQ provides a schedule from RFQ through Firm Selection Notification. Are there other identified milestone targets identified by Camden County? |
Answer | Not at this time. |
Question | Does Camden County have a construction sequence preference for the three buildings and is simultaneous work on all three acceptable? |
Answer | If the cost is acceptable we would like to see all buildings constructed at the same time. If the cost is more than the County is willing to spend then this will become a phased project with the priority being the Library and Civic Center / Senior Center. The administration building will have to wait. |
Question | Is it mandatory that the three building functions be implemented as separate structures? |
Answer | No. This was the design the commissioners agreed would meet the community and staff needs. However, if there is a better way of combining all the county services using a different approach they would be open to seeing it. The location of the administration building across the street from the historic courthouse and maintain the traditional design was carefully discussed and it was decided this was the look and location they desired. |
