The North Carolina Wildlife Federation and Wildlife Habitat Stewards of Northeastern NC Chapter will be hosting a Fall Native Plant Sale, Sunday, October 13th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
Shop their collection of southeastern native perennials, grown locally in Edenton by Wetland Plants, Inc, an exclusively native plant nursery. The collection will include:
Blue Mistflower, Swamp milkweed, Spotted Joe-Pye-Weed, Oxeye sunflower, and Seaside goldenrod.
Each plant will be sold in a 4x6" ecofriendly, biodegradable, cloth plant bag with instructions for planting at a cost of $5 each.
Planting native species is beneficial because they offer essential food and habitats for wildlife, ensuring their survival. They demand minimal upkeep, conserve water, naturally control pests, and promote environmental sustainability.
These programs are free and open to the public. Some programs and events may require pre-registration. For more information, please call the library at (252) 331-2543.
