  • 04:00pm  Library International Dot Day Celebration

Come and make your mark with a community art program!
Join us as we celebrate International Dot Day, inspired by Peter H. Reynold's acclaimed picture book, The Dot.
The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”.
What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.
The library will provide a large canvas full of blank dots of all sizes, just waiting for you to fill them in with a variety of acrylic paint colors. We will be displaying the final product in the library for everyone to enjoy!
This event is intended for children 8 and up. Please wear or bring clothes suitable for painting, as acrylic paint does not wash out.
This program is free and open to the public.
