Camden County Commissioners
Camden County is governed by a 5-member elected
Board of Commissioners. There are no municipalities in Camden
County, although a small portion of the City of Elizabeth City
extends over the Pasquotank River onto the Camden Causeway
(US158). The County Commissioners appoint a County Manager who
manages the day-to-day affairs of the county government.

Board of Adjustment,
Planning Board, Social Services Board and

Sheriff,
Clerk of Superior Court, and
Register of Deeds
The citizens of Camden County also elect a Sheriff (Tony
Perry), Clerk of Superior Court (Ann Spivey), and Register of
Deeds (Peggy Kight) who manage those functions of the county
government.
County Departments
Camden County Offices house several departments, including the Tax
Department and the Public Works Department.

Camden County Schools
A 5-member elected Board of Education oversees Camden County
Schools. The Board of Education employs a School Superintendent
who oversees the school system, which includes Grandy Primary
School, Camden Middle School and Camden County High School.
