Major Jon Worthington joined the Camden County Sheriff's Office in March
2001. He is currently the Uniformed Patrol Commander, Drug Investigations
Supervisor, Training Officer, and S.R.T. Team Leader.
He previously
served as a Deputy Sheriff in the Pasquotank County Sheriff's
Office and as a Narcotics
Agent with the Northeast Regional Drug Task Force.
He is a graduate
of Camden County High School, College of the Albemarle, and
North Carolina State University.
As well as, the Pitt Community College Police
Academy and the Coastal Plains Law Enforcement
Management Institute.
Major Worthington
is a N.C. Certified Instructor with Specialty Areas in Firearms,
Rapid Deployment, and Use of Force. He currently holds the
Advance Law Enforcement Certification.
He is also an adjunct instructor with Blackwater USA, Wilson
Technical College, and College of the Albemarle. He also serves
on the NCJA BLET Revision Committee, and is the GHSP County Coordinator.
His hobbies include shooting, fishing, biking, and playing golf. He
is married and has one son.
