  1. How Do I Register?

Board of Elections Office. The office maintains applications that can be completed in the office as well as mail-in voter registration forms. Office personnel will gladly mail a form to citizens upon request.

Agencies. Voter registration programs are actively conducted through many State agencies. When receiving benefits from participating agencies or programs, a voter registration transaction is available during the conduct of business with that office. Programs and agencies that currently participate are: Work First: Women, Infant and Children (WIC); Food Stamps, Medicaid; Services for the Blind; Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services: Vocational Rehabilitation; Governor's Advocacy Council for Persons with Disabilities; and Employment Security Commission.

Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). A person may complete a voter registration transaction at any driver's license examination office when conducting official DMV business such as applying for or renewing a driver's license, I.D. card, etc.

Libraries and Public High Schools. Mail-in voter registration forms are available at these locations; however, these locations do not accept completed forms. Completed forms must be mailed to the Camden County Board of Elections Office.

  4. What Should I Bring When I Come To Register?

  5. Explain The Political Party Affiliations.

When registering to vote, individuals will be asked to declare their party affiliation with the Democratic, Republican, other recognized political party, or an Unaffiliated status.

Should you declare yourself to be an Unaffiliated voter, you may vote on referenda or bond issues during a partisan primary, unless a political party has opened its primary to unaffiliated voters.

Both Democratic and Republican parties allow Unaffiliated voters to vote in their primaries. Voters have to choose which party they wish to vote for an they must tell the Chief Judge at the precinct when they go vote.

In a partisan primary, voters may vote only for candidates of their party and on referenda or bond issues. In a non-partisan primary, all voters may vote for all candidates.
